What if you could hear someone’s thoughts? Not the polished version, but the raw, private truth they’d never say out loud?

Welcome to Inner Voices, my new audio series where I intend to bring fictional characters to life through monologue, voiceover, and soul. These aren't going to be long speeches or dramatic plot twists. They'll be the quiet moments, the unsent letters, the last thoughts before goodbye etc.

Each monologue will be read/performed by me mostly 😊, blending my growing love of storytelling with voice over artistry to let you feel a character from the inside out. My hope is that each monologue expresses a range of emotions including grief, hope, joy, regret or surprise. Maybe all in the same breath, words or lines even. Some stories might make you smile. Others may stay with you long after they end.

So the first monologue in this series is Evelyn's...

Ever wonder what it sounds like when someone lets go gently?

Well...in the first episode of this series, I introduce you to Evelyn — a woman standing in the middle of an empty house she once called home.

Her husband passed away five years ago. Today, she’s leaving the house for good. But before she walks out the door, her mind lingers — not just on memories, but on small, sacred rituals that still echo in the walls.

"Funny how the house gets louder when it’s empty. Every creak in the floorboards sounds like it’s saying something..."

I voiced Evelyn as someone who isn’t in the middle of grief, but at the quiet edge of it. Someone who has lived through the heavy part of it and is now navigating that subtle, final release.

When I recorded her monologue, I tried to keep Evelyn's voice low, steady, and breathy. Not because she’s cold and distant, but because she’s holding herself together. She’s honouring the moment in the only way she knows how now: gently.

Sometimes, the restraint says more than the sob and goodbye's aren't always loud.

This is just the beginning, so I hope you enjoy this series! If you have a prompt or idea you’d love to hear brought to life...a moment, a mood, a sentence — drop it in the comments. I might turn your idea into the next monologue. :)
