The Moore River Estuary is a stunning natural wonder that's the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. We got a chance to visit this place for the first time and it did not disappoint. If you're wondering, an estuary is where freshwater (rivers or streams) and salty water bodies (oceans) meet, and in this case we got to see where the Moore River meets the Indian Ocean. We're currently in summer and because of this, the river usually meets the ocean at low tide, so the two waterbodies actually separate forming a sandbar that you can walk across or use as a mini-beach, it's so cool to see.🤓

This scenic location is perfect for camping, barbecuing, picnics, water activities or simply walking around, exploring and enjoying nature. Our time at the estuary was limited so we just got to walk around, explore and enjoy the views but I can't wait to go back and explore more. Apart from a walking trail, there's also an outdoor wooden staircase that leads to a viewing point a few metres above the ground that gives an excellent view of the water bodies, it's also a great place to take some amazing photos!

Even with lots of people around, the atmosphere at the estuary was sooo serene, I can't explain it. I find that there's something about being near the ocean that just commands that sort of atmosphere. From the distinct dark blue pinkish colour of the river and the crisp blue whitish colour of the ocean, the fresh breeze, sounds of soft crushing ocean waves, people laughing and splashing about, birds flying around and weird looking lizards scarring away into the bushes...everything about this place is refreshing and captivating!

It's a breath-taking wonder that's a must-see for any nature enthusiast, if you haven't already and you can, visit the Moore River Estuary, it's an experience you'll never forget!
Catch you in the next post!
Chich.
