Mask like a beak diss...

So something sorta funny happened today.
I usually take the train to work and because of Corona, face masks are mandatory for everyone that uses public transport. But today, I was running late for work and I forgot my face mask, so I had to stop by the store to buy one before getting onto the train.
So I bought my mask, wore it, got onto the train and went about my day. After work, I met up with hubby at the train station and he immediately started laughing. He said, "Why is your mask so pointy? It looks like a bird's beak?". How embarrassing! Like they say, it really be your own people lol😂🙄.
Anyway, I looked in the mirror and immediately understood why he was laughing. The stitch on my mask made it look so pointy, like a bird beak, for real. I didn't realise this when I wore the mask on the train to and from work😬. I actually thought the mask was pretty cool when I bought it so I wore it proudly until hubby pointed out its funny feature. This incident reminded me of these not-so trivial life lessons;
1) Sometimes, ignorance really is bliss! My mask looked hella funny on me as soon as I wore it but I thought I looked great with it so, I wore it proudly because I didn't notice it's funny feature, which I'm sure others did. If I knew my mask was flawed before I got onto the train, I would have been so self-conscious I'd have probably had my hand over it the whole time and that would have made for a very uncomfortable ride.
2) People who genuinely love you aren't afraid to tell you when what you have on doesn't compliment you. These are the people that will save you the embarrassment by telling you when you've got food stuck in your teeth, ashy lips, smelly breath, an un-straightened collar or even tissue stuck to the bottom of your shoes! These rare people are precious, if you have them in your life, keep them close.
3) Nothing good comes from rushing, prepare and plan ahead. Rushed, panicky mornings are literally some of my worst mornings. I'm not a morning person so I find that my mornings go much better when planned for in advance. If I wasn't rushing this morning, perhaps I wouldn't have bought the funny looking masks lol.
4) Don't take yourself too seriously, embarrassing moments are life's way of reminding you that you're human.
5) As always, confidence is key! When I wore my mask in the morning, I didn't get the chance to see how it looked in the mirror but I believed it looked great, so I wore it proudly and confidently! I thought it looked great and that's what mattered...until hubby burst my bubble lol!😂
Can you relate to any of these life lessons?
I'll leave it here, I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it!
Catch you in the next post!
