Imagine you started life off with a trillion eggs 🥚and the only thing God requested of you is

that you not break all of the eggs before you died, but in the event that you broke any eggs at all, His forgiveness would be readily available for you as long as you told Him about the broken eggs.

Let's now imagine that whenever you made a mistake or committed a sin, an egg broke, but God being so gracious allots you more eggs than you need from the beginning, to compensate for all of the sins and mistakes you'll ever make, hence the trillion eggs.

You live your life with this knowledge and inevitably so, break a few eggs, maybe even a few million as you go along. But then you get frustrated😖about the number of eggs you've broken and decide that you can't afford to break anymore eggs, so you start to live life like you're walking on egg shells. Trying to make no mistakes, taking no risks and as a result not adapting well to change, growth or learning and not giving yourself the chance to try again after you fail but instead dwelling on your past mistakes and obsessing about living perfectly so you don't break any more eggs.

This is a miserable life 👎, one that God did not intend for us to live.

The point of this analogy is that often times we don't fully understand the grace of God. It does not give us liberty to keep sinning but it is always sufficient for us. We often condemn ourselves for what we've done and as a result fail to see the hundred million other eggs that God has given us so that we can live life free of judgement and condemnation.

We can often forget that just like with the analogy of the trillion eggs, God doesn't want us consumed by our past mistakes or to live in fear, He's given us more than enough chances to learn from our mistakes and be better. To live our lives authentically and daringly, without fear but with the humility to repent when we sin.

Don't be hard on yourself and neither should you let mistakes feed any fears, we have been given much more grace and opportunity to get up and try try again. God is far more gracious and merciful, even much more than we can comprehend. Isn't this great news? I think it is!😁

So this should give us hope for each day and unending joy. In God we have a Friend, a Father and a Saviour, who loves us deeply and will never give up on us. Knowing this encourages me so much, I hope it does the same for you. ❤️
